11/10 Archive

11/30/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

11/29/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

  • If Simon Cowell gets his request, Susan Boyle will sing at the royal wedding. Cowell thinks the Scottish songstress "would be perfect."
  • He's dead. Surely, you can't be serious. I am, and don't call him Shirley. Leslie Nielsen, who launched himself into superstardom with "Airplane" and "The Naked Gun" movies, has died at 84. Nielsen was a solid, serious, dramatic actor until the Zucker Brothers got him to play Dr. Rumack in "Airplane." Nielsen became their go to guy for films like "The Naked Gun", "Dracula, Dead and Loving It" and "Hot Shots." His deadpan delivery and dry sense of humor made him a favorite of fans around the world.
  • Today is Cyber Monday. If you miss it don't worry, those deals should be around all week.

11/25/10-Happy Thanksgiving! After the show today, we're packing up all the food we made here last night and transporting it to my parents house in Illinois. It's become a Thanksgiving tradition in our family and we enjoy it.

  • Thanksgiving is Thursday and if you have any questions, concerns or need some inspiration, Food Network is your friend. Here are some shows that will help you. Rule #1 of Thanksgiving is don't make any dishes for the first time, go with what you've done before. I unfortunately will be breaking that rule this year because my wife Princess saw two recipes on Food Network she wanted me to try. Don't worry. I'll figure them out (or feed them to Butkus and Murphy.)
  • The American Music Awards were given out last night and the big winner was the teen sensation from Canada, Justin Bieber. At the rate he's going, he'll be able to retire when he's 20.
  • How do police in Pittsburgh serve search warrants? In a big Steelers van. I wonder if the NFL will ask for a cut of the action.

11/19/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

  • A trio of hosts has been announced to close out the year on Saturday Night Live. Robert De Niro, Paul Rudd and Jeff Bridges will all take a shot at helming the show beginning December 4th. Paul McCartney will be the musical guest on December 11th.
  • Susan Boyle is hot. Musically that is. The Scottish songstress has the number one album in the UK and the US simultaneously for the second time in a year. This makes her the first woman to pull off this feat. Previously, it had been done by The Beatles and The Monkees.
  • There's a new sandwich in town called the McRushmore. It consists of A McRib, a Fillet-o-Fish, a Chicken Sandwich, and an Angus Third Pounder spliced into a single sandwich. Yuck! It's one of those secret menu items you can order if you get someone who knows what you are talking about.

11/4/10-Howdy y'all! I'm in Hueytown, AL. My wife, Princess, is a lil' ol' southern girl from down yonder, which is here. We're having a fun time visiting with her Mama and Princess' two daughters. The youngest, Stephanie, is getting married on Saturday. And, from what I hear, I might be back here next spring as Princess' oldest daughter, Debbie might have some news for us around Christmas.

Fortunately, my daughter Jordan has no plans of getting married which makes me happy both personally and financially.

We'll give you some updates from down here when we can and I'll be back on the air Wednesday morning.

Y'all take care now, you hear?

11/1/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

  • A man in Nebraska is in trouble after allegedly "waterboarding" his girlfriend. He was trying to get her to confess having an affair. Apparently, he didn't get the memo that even the CIA can't get away with that anymore.
  • If someone you know wears Tag body spray, they will have to find another way to attract the opposite sex. Proctor and Gamble is discontinuing Tag to focus on its other brands including Old Spice and Gillette.
