12/31/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Here is a list of people who won't be joining us in 2011.
- Here is the rundown on what bowl games will be on this weekend. Of course, we all know Wisconsin meets TCU in the Rose Bowl is tomorrow at 3:30pm and the Packers host Chicago Sunday at 3:15. Also, my wife Princess wants to remind you that Alabama plays Michigan State in the Capitol One Bowl tomorrow at noon. Roll Tide!
12/30/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A man in Michigan suspected that his wife was having an affair, so he hacked into her e-mail account to confirm it. He was right. He was also in violation of Michigan's anti-snooping law. He faces a five year jail sentence if he's found guilty. Someday, we'll have clear laws on all of this because using this kind of logic, a parent could be prosecuted for reading their child's e-mail. Also, does that make products like "cyber sitter" against the law in Michigan?
- A man in Maine sued Walmart after he crashed his truck into a free standing pole. A judge dismissed the case after noting "The pole is painted bright yellow and is topped by a stop sign and marks the edge of a pedestrian crossing area." The man will receive no money but should get a gift card for Walmart's optical department.
12/29/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Police were called to an Ohio McDonald's when a customer debated the freshness of his french fries.
- Did you purchase one of those extended warranties for your Christmas gadget? If you did, here are some things you should know when you contact the call center.
- Robin from St. Nicholas Hospital told us why you should avoid fad diets. The truth is, if you are serious about weight loss, you should talk to your doctor first, not Jenny.
12/28/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- In Mesa, Arizona, a man was found asleep in his car, seat reclined, keys in the ignition, transmission in drive with no lights on in the middle of a residential street. When asked what he was doing, the man told police "I can sleep wherever I want." Apparently, he can't.
- The newest "media is all over it to scare you to death" scam? Credit card swipe thieves.
12/27/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- In England, Burger King is selling a special Whopper for the holidays. Called the "sprout surprise Whopper", the secret ingredient is Brussels Sprouts. Personally, I think the only thing Brussels Sprouts are good for is to practice your putting.
- Singer/Songwriter Teena Marie has died at the age of 54. You may remember her 1985 mega hit "Lovergirl."
12/26/10-Did you hear about the big lake effect storm in Kenosha and Racine last night? Guess who got caught driving in it? That's right, me. Arghhh. I do have to brag for a moment. I went to my parents where I was given a beef tenderloin and told to cook it. I used the method prescribed by "America's Test Kitchen" where you salt it, let it sit an hour, butter massage it, cook it at 300 for about an hour and then sear it. It was the first time I tried it that way and boy it came out so good my dad even wanted seconds. It made my Christmas!
12/25/10-From our family to yours, have a very Merry Christmas!
12/23/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- We in this area are no strangers to bizarre traffic stoppages, what with the electrical wire incident of last Saturday. So, while this incident is strange, we'll all feel a little sympathy from those who were stuck in it. In Laurel, Maryland, a milk tanker truck overturned trying to maneuver through a traffic circle (which is why they should all be outlawed) and spilled gallons of milk all over the highway. Portions of busy route 26 were backed up for hours while workers cleaned up the mess. The driver was seen standing by the side of the road crying, so a police officer went over, put his hand on his shoulder and reminded him not to cry over spilled milk (be here all week folks, try the veal.)
- If you have a foodie in your household, here's a list of things NOT to get them (story contains some language suitable for mature audiences.)
12/22/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Celebrity Cook (she's not a chef) Paula Deen's former housekeeper has been sentenced to eighteen months in prison for stealing from Paula and her husband Michael Groover. Personally, if I were the judge, I would have imposed a more appropriate sentence: One year of watching any program featuring Guy Fieri or Sandra Lee. Of course that probably would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
- The National League of Junior Cottilions has issued their most polite persons list for 2010. At the top is New Orleans Quarterback Drew Brees. Boy singer Justin Bieber was second while soon to be royal Kate Middleton finished third.
12/21/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

Basically, a gift card like that could feed a family for an entire year. I doubt some depressed person is going to use it to binge.
12/17/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

- If you are looking for a stocking stuffer for the man in your life, check out some of these manly chocolate ideas.
- Before you say "I do", you might want to assess your intended's math skills. Couples who answered a series of simple math questions were far more likely to have more money when they entered middle age than those who didn’t. BTW, Princess breathed a sigh of relief when I not only did all three problems, but did them without the use of a calculator and without taking my shoes off.
- This morning we met Dr. Sharma, the newest family practice specialist at the new Prevea Clinic in Plymouth.
12/7/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

- Although these songs may seem like they were written about women, they weren't.
12/6/10-Here's what we talked about this morning:

It's a life-sized, two-dimensional poster printed on a rollable adhesive-backed material that can be mounted to cardboard, foam, wood, or any other surface to serve as a reminder to children of absent parents. Of course, those family conversations will still be a little difficult.
