11/29/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- What's got your local food pantry worried these days? The high cost of peanut butter. A staple that goes a long way to feeding the hungry, the price of PB has shot through the roof the last couple of months with all of the major players increasing their prices. This holiday, if you want to donate to a food pantry, bring them a case of peanut butter.
- Fiction has become fact at Staples, where they have introduced a line of Dunder Mifflin paper products. Dunder Mifflin is the name of the company in the NBC comedy "The Office." It would make a great gift this holiday season for anyone who is a devoted fan of that show.
- Greg Anderson joined us this morning with "Money Talks Tips & Traps." Today, Greg told you how making your home a bit greener could save you a lot of green. Listen to today's advice or any of Greg's other pearls of wisdom here.
11/28/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A New York man is fed up with having his weight questioned by his boss. So, he is suing her. The man was passed up for a performance based on his appearance and constantly ridiculed by his boss. Can't we all just get along?
- This time of year, there are a lot of opportunities to purchase products from Amway, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef and Tupperware. Of course, all of these sellers want you to join their "team" and make a few spare coins by becoming a rep. Basically, the way the game is played is you invest money, get a boatload of product and then call all your friends and neighbors to come over for a party and try to sell them product. You get a cut, the person who signed you up gets a cut and the company gets a cut. How do you repel the person who wants to sign you up to sell? Here are a few good ideas.

11/25/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Why spend your hard earned dollars at big box stores who will send your money out of town when you can support your local merchants and keep the money in our community. Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday.
- A security guard at a Washington grocery store has been fired after going Barney Fife on a four year-old girl. I'd be more concerned that a grocery store had a security guard.
- Chef John from the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc joined us to talk about some upcoming wine tastings at the Pub.
11/23/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- It's Thanksgiving eve and there is a lot to do. At my house, I have the cranberry sauce done and chilling, the turkey brine ready to accept the turkey, all my veg for my side dishes cut up and my gravy stock done. If you are not about this far, you will be sorry tomorrow. I'll be assembling my side dishes this afternoon and tomorrow, all I have to do is load the oven. This makes for a happy Thanksgiving for the cook. It will not be a happy Thanksgiving if you are a turkey, but at least one turkey will get pardoned by the President today.
- The new champion of "Dancing With The Stars" is J.R. Martinez. Rob Kardashian finished second while Ricki Lake was third. I was sure Ricki was going to win.

11/22/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A woman in Utah became so frustrated with her husband being obsessed with a video game, she put him up for bid on Craigslist. I hope my wife doesn't read this.
- The woman who robbed Jeopardy host Alex Trebek will soon face trial. Can I take "People Who Will Soon Be In Jail" for $500, Alex?
- Greg Anderson dropped by with "Money Talks Tips and Traps." Today, Greg discussed how to make your mileage work for you on your tax return. Hear all of Greg's sage advice here.
11/21/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- PETA has approached the town of Turkey, Texas about changing their name to "Tofurky." PETA says "Turkey would send a clear message that delicious, savory mock meat is an easy way to celebrate without causing suffering-and give a bird something to be thankful for." I don't think so, Tim.
- It was a big night for Taylor Swift as she won Favorite Artist last night at the American Music Awards. Other artists taking home awards included Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Lady Antebellum and Adele.
- Adam and Ben from Anytime Fitness came by to remind you that you can enjoy Thanksgiving and keep your self in shape at the same time.
11/18/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Actress Susan Lucci says she is not to blame for the delay to bring "All My Children" to the internet. Lucci says she would love to be part of an online "AMC." The production company, Prospect Park has shelved AMC for now and is focusing on "One Life To Live" where at least 13 stars, including most of the heavyweights have signed on. Originally, it was thought Lucci didn't want to participate. Me thinks she has a change of heart because she's not getting a whole lot of offers for prime time work.
- Here's a disturbing trend: One in every five divorces in America now site social media as the reason. Apparently, to some people, Facebook and Twitter have become a hunting ground for cheating spouses, some of whom reconnect with people form their past and reignite old flames.
- Chef John from the Courthouse Pub joined us this morning to tell us of several events coming to the Pub. Find out about them here. The Pub will be closed on Thanksgiving.
11/17/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Do you have a tea drinker on your holiday shopping list? You might want to get them some Panda tea, now selling at about $34,596 a pound. Oh, and it's made with Panda poo.
- Last night on "Top Chef Texas". New Holstein native Grayson Schmitz survived. Keith, the big, lovable chef from North Carolina was eliminated after his shrimp dish fell flat.
- Brett from Menards joined us to tell us about all their great price saving items, before and after Black Friday.
11/16/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- With Thanksgiving just eight days away, you may have some questions about sides, desserts, etc. Here's some help from the folks at the food lab.

11/15/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Your Thanksgiving dinner is going to cost you a bit more this year. Thank you, Captain Obvious.
- Since you didn't get to see "Dancing With The Stars" last night because of the Packers game, here is a recap. It looks pretty good for Ricki and Rob right now, doesn't it?

- You may have health insurance for you and your family, but what about your pet? Pet insurance is becoming more popular with pet owners, who find out the hard way that Fido's emergency surgery may be a drain on their budget.
- As the old saying goes, there are three ways to broadcast things: Telephone, telegraph or tell a woman. A new survey says women can keep a secret for about 32 minutes.
- Ben and Adam from Anytime Fitness stopped by to talk to us about a cool tool that helps you when you work out at Anytime Fitness.
11/11/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Fans of "All My Children" may not find their soap on the internet after all. The company that was going to launch it and "One Life To Live" on the web says that only three players from AMC have signed contracts while 13 from "OLTL" have signed including some of the bigger names. They also say maybe we only need one soap on the web.
- A woman in Milwaukee flipped off the wrong car yesterday. After cutting off an black SUV, the woman proceeded down the interstate for at least an eighth of a mile flipping the bird to the vehicle's driver. The driver happened to be Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke. He pulled the woman over and discovered that she was driving on a suspended license and took her into custody. The moral of the story: If you drive with a suspended license, don't draw unnecessary attention to yourself.
- Chef John from the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc stopped by to talk about their long association with "The Lettermen."
11/10/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- If you are planning a hunt for the Western Black Rhino, you'll have to change your plans. It's been declared extinct.
- Cartoonist Bil Keane has passed away at the age of 89. Keane was the man behind the popular "Family Circus" cartoon which he continued to draw until just a few years ago. The strip will go on, helmed by his son Jeff, known as "Jeffy" in the strip.
- New Holstein native Gretchen Schmitz survived the bubble and made the field on "Top Chef Texas." We'll keep you updated on her progress.
11/9/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- With the economy what it is, the City of Chicago has come up with a novel way to raise $25 million: Advertising. Soon everything from light boxes to parking meters could be plastered in ad. The Mayor says that it's worked for buses, so why not other things?
- Last night, Nancy Grace was kicked to the curb on "Dancing With The Stars."

11/8/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- What's in a name or better yet, what's in an acronym? Here is a list of some organizations that are known by the same letters.
- Tomorrow at 1pm, Lake 98.1 will be participating in the National Emergency Test. This test will be run simultaneously on all radio and TV stations across America. This is only a test.

- A couple in Florida has been charged with grand theft auto after stealing a police car so they could have "intimate relations." They got busted before they got busy.

- Ever thought about the benefits of working out with a personal trainer? Ben and Adam from Anytime Fitness came by to tell us what they offer you.
11/4/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Two managers of a Domino's Pizza in Florida are behind bars after torching a Papa John's. Their intent was to eliminate the competition. The Papa John's in now having a special on their new "smoked meat pizza."
- If you plan on flying for the holidays, expect to find less flights and more people on them.
- Chef John from the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc joined us to tell us about some fishy things going on there tonight. In honor of the Lakeshore Big Band's tribute to Frank Sinatra tomorrow night, Monday's phrase is "Blue Eyes." If you know that phrase Monday morning at 8:10 and you are the correct caller, you will win a $50 gift card from The Courthouse Pub and Lake 98.1
11/3/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A restaurant in Michigan has created a 338 pound hamburger, setting a record. The hamburger is actually available on the restaurant's menu. It will only set you back $2,000
- Where are the best rest rooms in America? According to Cintas, they are at the Field Museum in Chicago. Make sure you check them out the next time you visit.
- A woman in Des Moines is in trouble for torching a neighbor's garage. The reason? The neighbor "defriended" her on Facebook.
11/2/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- With Regis Philbin about ready to leave, "Live with Regis and Kelly" will be taking on some guest hosts before a permanent replacement is named. The first will be comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who will join Kelly for three shows beginning November 21.
- David Arquette is the latest celebrity to get kicked off "Dancing With The Stars." Yet, somehow, Nancy Grace survives.

- A woman in England was refused liquor at a package store when she failed to produce a photo ID. The woman is 92 years old.
- Police in Germany pulled over a man in a Yoda costume who allegedly was involved in a hit and run accident. Apparently he was peaceful and did not use the force.
