12/31/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The US Postal Service has announced its' roster of new stamps for 2010. Included will be stamps of Gene Autry, Mother Teresa and Katherine Hepburn.
- Two guys in Califoirnia have invented a novel item. It's a dog collar which has a bottle opener on it. Anytime you want to crack a cold one, y, ou just call Fido (or But, kus or Murphy.) What would be really impressive is teaching your dog to open it for you!
- What;s the biggest one hit wonder of the aught's? If you said "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter, you are having a good day.
12/30/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Paula Deen, the patron saint of butter, is adding to her merch. Soon to come will be a line of,
paper products including stationary and recipe cards. If you know Paula Deen's life story, you know she is having one heck of a ride. - USA is America's top cable network for 2009. Disney, TNT, ESPN and Fox News round out the top five.
- Tiger Woods name may be mud, but despite his recent arrest for domestic violence, don't expect any ill effects for Charlie Sheen. People already know his checkered past and accept it.
12/29/09-Back from vacation! Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Another daytime talk show host is throwing in the towel. Tyra Banks says she'll end her talk show in 2011.
- You know that old saying "Once in a blue moon?" A blue moon is a second full moon during a lunar cycle. There will be one New Year's eve. Sounds like a good night to stay home.
- A man in England was in the process of robbing a chicken restaurant when he was overcome with the aroma of the featured dish. He n ot only ordered some, but sat down to eat while still in the restaurant. Police had no trouble apprehending him.
12/18/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Don't think your favorite out of work TV actors are just sitting around their pools collecting unemployment. Tony Shalhoub (Monk) and Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace) are headed to broadway for a revival of the screwball comedy "Lend Me a Tenor." It's directed by Stanley Tucci, another well known actor.
- Sadly, you won't be seeing any of those great Pepsi commercials during the Super Bowl this year. After 23 years, Pepsi is pulling out of the big game. They want to invest more of their money in Internet advertising.
- Got a peanut butter lover in your family? Here are some great gifts.
- As the late Paul Harvey used to say, "partly personal." I'll be on vacation through December 28th. But keep checking back because you most likely will hear from me.
12/17/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A Simpson's fan in England has erected a 4 ft bust of Marge Simpson made entirely of margarine. Mmmm margarine.
- Libraries are getting serious about you returning overdue materials. A woman in Iowa was jailed after she failed to return 53 DVDs.
- If you enjoy Domino's pizza, you may want to be aware that they are re-inventing their recipe as of December 28th.
12/16/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Two more people wind up at a White House event t, hey weren't invite, d to. If this keeps up, this could become a reality show.
- Here are the top 10 TV shows of the decade according to the Associated Press. I must be getting old or I am very unhip, but of the Top 10, I only watched two of them. For my money, the top three according to Ramsey are "West Wing", "Boston Legal" and "Bones".
- Americans are becvoming more nearsighted. Experts say part of it may be because kids don't play outside as much, which I think is bunk. I played outside all the time as a kid, yet without my glasses I have the eyesight of Stevie Wonder.
12/15/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2010 class. The list includes Stooges, Genesis and ABBA.
- A fight broke out in a German grocery store over an empty shopping cart. One guy used a salami as a sword while a woman used a hunk of cheese. Isn't this how they discovered Reece's Peanut Butter Cups?
- If you haven't had your breakfast yet, here's one guaranteed to turn your stomach.
12/14/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- What's the most popular song that they like to karaoke to in Britain? "Waterloo" by Abba. Rounding out the top three "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen and Frank Sinatra's "My Way." My favorite Karaoke song is Bobby Darin's "Mack The Knife." But don't ask me to sing it. I couldn't carry a tune in a dump truck. But boy, do I sound great in the shower.
- Ava and Ethan are the most popular names for children born in Wisconsin.
- In our continuing series of gifts for your favorite foodie, here are some ideas for the burger fan.
12/11/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Actor Gene Barry has passed away at the age of 90. You may remember him from such TV shows as "Bat Masterson", "Burke's Law" and "The Name of the Game." I watch a lot of classic TV shows and he was one of my favorites, sort of like TV's version of Cary Grant.
- Have a pizza lover at your house? Here are some gift ideas.
- A woman in Louisiana was arrested after pouring hot grits on her sleeping boyfriend. Finally, a use for grits!
12/10/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A man was cited for drunk drving after police observed his vehicle we, aving down the center line of a road in Pennsylvania. The strange part to the story is the man was Amish and he was driving a buggy. He actually had fallen asleep.
- CBS has pulled the plug on "As The World Turns", the second soap opera they've axed in the last two years (the other being "The Guiding Light.")
- Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. Here's some Tiger news this morning: Tiger's wife Elin has purchased a house in her native Sweden. Rumors are that either she is going to live there or she and Tiger will move there. Question: If Tiger is hung up on blondes, isn't moving to Sweden like locking Rosie O'Donnell in a candy store? Also, Gatorade is dropiing Tiger as a pitchman and because of his now public activities, Tiger has been reconsidered for being awarded a congressional gold medal.

12/8/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- We're currently following a breaking story of an ambulance called to either Tiger Woods' house or a house in his neighborhood (depending on what report you read.) A blonde was taken from said house and taken to an area hospital and a black SUV arrived at the hospital shortly behind the ambulance. We'll keep you updated.
- Have a hot dog lover in your life? Here are some gifts sure to please this holiday season.
- It's been quite a week for former Family Ties cast members. First, mom Meredith Baxter announces she's gay. Then, cute, cuddly Andy, (actor Brian Bonsall), was busted for assault (again). Since this is a parole violation, Bonsall may be facing serious jail time.
12/7/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A man in Dallas couldn't grow grass on his property so he replaced it with artificial turf. Now the local zoning board says he has to get rid of the turf. I can so relate to this guy.
- Want some of the world's oldest cheese? It will only cost you $50 per pound. It's not som, ething you want to serve on cracker's new year's eve. Honestly, do you eat it or stand around and admire it?
12/4/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Maybe the world is coming back to its senses. The most watched TV show in the 7pm hour Wednesday night was the 97th showing of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer."
- Tonight, "Monk" ends its eight year run on USA.
- Guys, how can you tell if a woman is interested in you? Watch her feet.

University of Colorado has a couple of players with names that you might recognize: Forward Brittany Spears and guard Whitney Houston. No truth the rumor that they have redshirted center Taylor Swift and forward Jessica Simpson. - A Wisconsin company has invented a new snack: Jerky Cheese. Not exactly a Reece's Peanut Butter cup is it?
- Who is the most overpaid star according to Forbes Magazine? That would be Will Ferrell.
12/2/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Oprah Winfrey announced her annual Christmas contest yesterday. Among the grand prizes, tickets to a taping of Oprah's and Ellen's talk shows.
- If you are a fan of the show "The Shield" you may like thi, s news. Several cast members of that show will appear in an episode of Fox's "Lie to Me". Sorry, no Michael Chiklis, C.C.H. Pounder or Walton Goggins. In other TV news, FX has announced the start dates for the winter season of "Nip/Tuck" and "Damages" and CBS has won the November sweeps.
- An 87 year-old woman continues at her job as a receptionist.
12/1/09-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A couple of TV shows bit the dust yesterday. CBS pulled the plug on the struggling medical drama "Three Rivers." Fans of "Cold Case" are happy about this as it had been dragging "Cold Case" down with it on Sunday nights. Meanwhile, TNT scratched the Steven Bochco legal drama "Raising the Bar" after two seasons. With "Saving Grace" going into it's last year, the only hit TNT has left is "The Closer." TNT doesn't come close to the success that rival USA has had with original programming like "Monk", "Psych", "White Collar" and the coolest show on TV, "Burn Notice."
- What's the best town in Wisconsin to raise your kids? Osh Kosh, b'gosh.
- If you went out and purchased the items in "The Twelve Days of Christmas", it would cost you over $87,000. That exceeds my credit card limit.
