8/31/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- In an era where most of us struggle to afford air travel, American Airlines is offering first class international passengers some pretty nice perks including P.J.s, slippers and special blankets. The airline calls it a way to serve their "premium" customers. "Premium" is marketing code for you are going to pay a lot more for something that you could probably do without.
- What foods do personal trainers tell you not to eat? I was surprised to learn that some trainers are against grapes, bananas and yogurt. So much for my breakfast of champions.
- Susie from St. Nichol, as hospital told us that they will be at the Sheboygan County Fair beginning tomorrow offering free screenings for blood sugar and blood pressure. F, ind out more here.
8/30/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- I don't know about your dog, but our dogs enjoy more than just Alpo. Paper, towels, it doesn't matter. And it didn't matter to a small dog named Honey Bun who is a greeter at a Georgia jewelery star. Honey Bun swallowed a package of loose diamonds, valued at $10,000. The animals owner did recover the diamonds, but I'm sure it was not fun.
- The new cast has been named for "Dancing with the Stars" and it includes Nancy Grace, Ricky Lake, Ron Artest, David Arquette and Chaz Bono. The 13th season of "Dancing with the Stars" begins on September 19th.

8/29/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A restaurant owner in Chicago has finally won the right to use the name "Felony Franks" for his hot dog stand. The man hires convicts and has fought the city for two years to be able to use the name. The city says the name sends the wrong message, but he believes that the right message is one of second chances and rehabilitation.
- Jerry Lewis will not be hosting the MDA Telethon this year. In accepting an award last week, the comed, ian says he was proud to represent MDA for 45 years and that he has no reason why MDA replaced him a national chairman. He says he'll have plenty to say the day after Labor Day.
- Erin from Anytime Fitness reminds us that the weather will soon turn nasty. , , When you can't workout outside, you can enjoy the comfortable conditions inside Anytime Fitness.
8/26/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- There's a lot of talk about hurricanes today as Hurricane Irene bears down on the East Coast. Here's a little sidebar on how the storms get their names and what other names you might here this year.
- In these uncertain economic times, saving even a few bucks on, your electric bill can help. Here are some tips on how to make your fridge run cheaper.
- Ever use the check in feature o, n Facebook? You can tell your friends where you are at a given time like at the store or out to eat, giving a specific place and location. According to the annual list by Forbes Magazine, Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany is on top of the list with U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton second and Dilma Rousseff, the President of Brazil, third. Oprah? She comes in at number fourteen.
- A man in Florida thwarted shoplifters at his local Walmart by cutting them o, ff in his van and ramming their car as they tried to escape. The man says despite the $2,500 damage to his car, he'd gladly do it again.
- Brett from Menard's in Sheboygan joined us to, remind us that this is the time of year to get things done outside before the weather gets cold. 8/24/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Rumors were flying yesterday that one of Hollywood's power couples were calling it quits. But the demise of the marriage of Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith turned out to be false and now the two are huddling with their attorneys to do something about it. One of the rumors floating around is that Jada had an affair with J Lo's ex Mark Anthony which is partially true: Her character Christina Hawthorne had an affair with Anthony's character Nic, k Renaldo on Smith's TNT show HawthoRNe.
- Want the secrets to great iced coffee? Most of ice think iced coffee is taking your extra coffee and pouring it in a glass with ice. Actually, it has become its' own art form.

8/23/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A woman in Alaska has been charged with child abuse after she put hot sauce in her adopt, ed son's mouth as a punishment for lying. The woman put it all on video in an attempt to land a spot on the Dr. Phil Show. Ironically enough, when I was a kid, my mother used to punish me for using inappropriate language by putting hot sauce in my mouth. I never turned her in.
- There are some new words in the latest edition of the acclaimed Oxford Dictionary. They include "woot", "sexting" and "retweet."

8/22/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Is that who I think it is? A man is going around Green Bay impersonating former Packer Quarterback Brett Favre. He looks so much like Favre people are asking for autograph.
- A chef in Eng, land is in a bit of hot water after first receiving a bad review from a food critic then taking it out on a member of his kitchen staff. After being told his food was disgusting, he punched the staffer, pushed him down some stairs and then continued to roll around on the ground with him.
- Erin from Anytime Fitness told us about a great web site they offer to help supplement your workout plan.
8/19/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- If you have an extra $70,000 lying around, you may be able to rent a country for the weekend. The princ, ipality of Liechtenstein is up for rent, at least for a few nights at a time, at about $70,000 per night. But beware, they are awful picky about who they rent to.
- Who are the worst celebrity tippers? The list may surprise you. Rachel Ray is on the list at number 10, because she openly advocates tipp, ing less than 20% on her talk show. Bill Cosby is also on the last for leaving a $3 tip on a $350 tab. The winner? Golfer Tiger Woods who doesn't tip at all because he claims he doesn't carry cash. (<, STRONG>Warning: Slide Show)

8/18/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- If you think foreclosure is something that happens only to us poor middle class types, guess again. Actor Burt Reynolds is facing foreclosure on one of his properties in Florida.&nb, sp; The bank says Burt is $1.2 million behind in his payments. At 75, Burt is probably too old to make up the cash posing in Cosmo again. Eeew.
- A man in the Madison area has delighted his neighbors with his garden. That is, all except one, who filed a complaint with the city about it. The city came out to inspect and when it was all over, the man was exchanging pruning tips with the city inspector. No word how his neighbor Mr. McCrankypants was taking the news that the garden is staying.
- This morning, we talked to Dave Fehan, who is the manager of Chevrolet's Corvette racing program and oversees the American Le Mans series. They'll be in town this weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake. Here's more information.
8/17/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Where are the best places to live in the US? According to a new CNN, Money Magazine survey, the winner is the Denver suburb of Louisville, Colorado. It has a low crime rate, low housing costs and only 6% unemployment.
- Congratulations to Jennifer Behm, a Delaw, are Realtor for being named this year's "MasterChef." Jennifer won the competition among home cooks by beating out Adrien Nieto, a restaurant server and Christian Collins, a stay at home dad.
- Today, we talked to the President/CEO of St. Nicholas Hospital, Andy Bagnall, who sees a bright future ahead. Andy reminded us that St. Nicholas is your community hospital.
8/16/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- There's a big court battle between Sara Lee, maker of Ballpark Franks and Kraft Food, s, makers of Oscar Meyer hot dogs. Each is suing the other over deceptive marketing practices. We're sure there will be some frank discussion before a wiener take all verdict is announced.
- Last night on MasterChef, it was Suzy who was given the boot. Christian, Adrien and Jennifer remain. The finale is tonight on Fox. Nobody wants Christian to win, but it's possible, although the nicest story be, longs to Adrien.

8/15/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The good news is that if the Obama administration gets it's way. by 2025, your car will get over 55 miles per gallon. But before you start planning what to do with the money you are go, ing to save on gas, you should kno, w the bad news: The cost of purchasing one of these vehicles is almost $6,200 more than a car you can buy today. Better start saving now.
- It must be lawsuit season. A Brazilian soap opera star is suing billionaire George Soros for $50 million because he reniged on a promise of an apartment for her. Meantime, a woman is suing a man she got involved with on Facebook because he broke off their relationship. Boy, if she wins that one, there is no telling how many other people who dance online will lawyer up. Finally Dr. Phil has settled a lawsuit with two women who were staying at his Dr. Phil house. As part of shock therapy, the good doc sent a n, aked man to walk through the house. It wigged the women out and they sued. The good news is, the naked man was not Dr. Phil.
- Erin from Anytime Fitness joined us this morning to tell us that , they can tailor a specific plan to your needs. In my case it involves a rubber suit. a steam room and a treadmill.
8/12/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- While the networks tend to trot out reality shows or reruns over the summer, ca, ble has some compelling scripted programs. That said, some big favorites made news this week. USA announced next season would be the final season for "In Plain Sight" while SyFy shocked the world by canceling the popular Eureka.&nb, sp;They have renewed "Warehouse 13." Meanwhile, USA has renewed "Suits" for a second season, while rival TNT has r, e upped both "Franklin and Bash" and "Rizzoli and Isles." The big losers could be TNT's "Memphis Beat" and "Hawthorne" which have been getting drilled on Tuesday nights, leading me to believe that both of those shows might not be back next year. "Rescue Me" on FX is already heading toward it's September 8th season finale.
- A man in England collects Smurfs. He has over 1,200 items.

8/11/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A man in Brookfield, WI ordered a pizza online, except he accidentally checked carryout and not delivery. So, when his pizza didn't arrive, he called the pizza place and requested delivery. When his food arrived, it was cold, so he called the pizza place and complained, finally appearing at the restaurant and hurling pizza and other food items at the staff. The man has been arrested for disorderly conduct and assault with a deadly breadstick.
- An American woman was enjoying a meal in a fancy London restaurant when rioters and looters broke in. They demanded that the woman remove her rings and hand over her purse, . The kitchen staff of the restaurant came to her rescue, chasing the looters off using rolling pins, fry baskets and of course, kitchen knives.
- If you ever wanted a piece of ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff, , this may be your chance. A man in New York is selling I-pad cases made of what he claims to be Madoff's clothes. He purchased the clothes at auction and has made 31 of the cases, which sell for $500. He says stock brokers are buying them up to give as holiday gifts.
8/10/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Lionsgate has given a green light to a remake of the classic 80's movie Dirty Dancing. Kenny Ortega, , who choreographed the original film, will direct the remake. My wife Princess and I have discussed possible casting for the film and we like Enrique Iglesias in the Patrick Swayze role and Steve Martin in the Jerry Orbach role. What do you think. - Monday on MasterChef, my least favorite personality, Tracy, was kicked to the curb. Last night, one of the most likable people on the show was sent home. Ben did great but not good enough. We're n ow down to the final four.

8/9/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- In just a few short months, it will be hard to find standard light bulbs. Congress has voted to phase out the regular kind of light bulbs in favor of the curly q kind beginning next year. Maybe that's why people are stocking up on the regular kind.
- There is joy in the land this morning as EMO chick Tracy gets eliminated on MasterChef. However, Gordon, Joe and Graham took care of her, giving her a year scholarship at a cooking school and offering her a future job at one of their establishments.

8/8/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The news of Jerry Lewis not getting to make a farewell appearance on the MDA telethon has riled some comedians. A group of them including Paul Rodr, iguez, Larry Miller, Tom Dreesen, Norm Crosby and others have joined in support of Lewis and will not participate in this year's show. You can tell us what you think of Jerry leaving in our front page listener poll.
- Fine dining has become a trend in the last few years, but prices for simple things, like gourmet hamburgers may have hit a ceiling. In California, several places offer burgers for upwards of ten dollars (fries not included.)
- Erin from Anytime Fitness in Sheboygan stopped by to remind you that they live up to their name and are open 24 hours. This is great news if you work third shift or have a crazy schedule like I do and get up in the middle of the night.
8/5/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- It's the end of an era at the MDA Telethon. For the first time since 1966, someone not named Jerry Lewis will be hosting the MDA Telethon, over labor day weekend. Lewis is also out as MDA National Chairman. No reason was given for the change and nobody is talking. Lewis said earlier in the year that he would be doing his final telethon this year.
- Who are the most popular stars on network TV? Pauley Perrette of NCIS is first, followed by Cote De Pablo of NCIS and Jim Parsons of "The Big Bang Theory." NCIS cast members finished 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th.
- Chef John with the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc is excited that the Courthouse Pub has win it's ninth consecutive Wine Spectator Magazine Award. To find out more, visit their news site. This week's phrase is "Wine Spectator."
8/4/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- We told you the other day about the new FBI investigation into the case of D.B. Cooper, the man who hijacked a plane in 1971 and may have jumped to freedom (or death.) Now, a woman from Oregon has come forward claiming to be Cooper's niece and claiming to have overheard Cooper and his brothers plan the hijacking as well as seei, ng her uncle shortly after the hijacking. She says her uncle died in 1999. The FBI calls her story vague.
- Who is the highest paid actor in Hollywood? Leo of course.
- Brett from Menard's joined us this morning not only to congratulate Paul Menard on winning the Brickyard 400, but to tell us of some great deals at Menards.
8/3/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A Dunkin' Donuts employee is in big trouble after attempting to lace coffee for two police officers with, um, snot. The cops became suspicious when the employee didn't prepare the coffee in front of them. Security tapes clearly show the empl, , oyee spiking the coffee. He's in jail for two counts of simple assault.
- Last night on MasterChef is was so long to Christine and Derrick. That leaves six cooks left in the competition.
- Susie from St. Nicholas Hospital joined us to talk about two upcoming programs at St. Nicholas Hospital. They include an AARP driving class for seniors and a program called "Hello Brother, Hello Sister" for families that are expecting a second child.
- WEB EXCLUSIVE MATERIAL: It's your m, orning Chuck. It looks like the first episode of 2½ Men will be having a funeral for ****** ******'s character, Charlie Harper. No doubt, producer Chuck Lorre will get in the last word. In other Charlie news, Charlie has moved his ex-wife Brooke Mueller to a rehab facility in the US from one in Mexico. It is believed Charlie is paying the bills because if Brooke loses her kids, Charlie will lose his access as well.
8/2/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The woman who was apprehended by San Francisco police after robbing Jeopardy host Alex Trebeck was in court yesterday and entered a not guilty plea to the robbery. Trebeck snapped his Achilles tendon when he tried to chase t, he woman down in a hotel corridor. One disconcerting fact about the incident, it was discovered that Trebeck apparently sleeps in the nude. I'll take "Scary Mental Pictures" for $400, Alex.
- Last night on MasterChef, the remaining eight cooks made souffles. No one went home, although everyone has had enough of Christian. Here's Joe's take on things and here is Chef Graham's.

8/1/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- One of the great mysteries of all time might be closer to being solved. In 1971, a man calling himself D.B. Cooper hijacked an airplane and demanded $200,000. Cooper was given the money and somewhere over the Oregon-Washington border, jumped from the plane. Some think he didn't make it, but others think that he did. Now, the FBI says they have a suspect who they believe might be Cooper. Stay tuned.

- This morning, we started a new segment on fitness with the folks from Anytime Fitness in Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Erin joined us this morning to tell us that the Sheboygan facility has been totally remodeled and offers you everything you could ever want in a workout facility.
