29/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A New York City Police Officer is in trouble after police officials discovered that, he wrote 36 fake tickets, some to dead people. The officer was padding his hours with overtime hours that he didn't work and claiming that he was writing tickets during that time.
- Fans of the HB, O Series "Entourage" will be happy to know that the much anticipated big screen adaptation is in the works. Producers say that they will be writing a movie soon, although no production date is in site. The series in in it's final season on HBO. In a related story, the 9,000+ sq. ft. Tuscan mansion, featured as Vincent Chase's house, has been sold for $4.2 million.

- Forbes has ranked the top 100 small towns for doing business in the US. Sheboygan is ranked at #100. At the top of the list is Ma, nhattan, KS.
- I'll take Game Show Host Heroes for $400, Alex. Jeopardy host Alex Trebeck blew out his Achilles tendon while chasing a suspect who had entered his hotel room and tried to rob him. The robber was eventually captured by police.
- A man in North Carolina has made a curious choice for the best man at his wedding: The Chic-Fil-A cow. The bride-to-be says she's "super-excited" and that the cow's presence is one of several personal touches geared to keep the wedding f, rom being stuffy. No word as to whether or not the dinner menu only includes chicken.

- A man accused of barking and hissing at a polic, e dog is still guilty, even though his lawyer says it is protected under the first amendment. A judge ruled that barking and hissing is not covered under the constitution and that trying to rile the dog is still a crime.

7/23/11-Sad news today about the passing of singer Amy Winehouse. She's not that well known in the US, but huge in her native UK. She was a very talented and troubled person., Twenty-seven is not a good age for troubled music stars.
7/22/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- There's been a change to the, cast of the new version of "Charlie's Angels." Robert Wagner, tabbed to play the voice of Charlie, has backed out because of other projects. A replacement has not been named.
- If you were to write a restaurant menu, these are the words you would most likely use.

- First Lady Michelle Obama is coming to reality TV. She'll participate in an episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" which is being filmed today in North Carolina. The episode will air in October on ABC
- You'll be happy to know that soon, the TSA will no longer be scanning your junk. That's because new software will be able to auto-detect harmful items using a generic body outline as a background.

- It's no longer just cream puffs and deep fried turkey legs at state fairs. The latest trend is for exotic foods, including game and a variety of insects. I'll stick with funnel cake, thanks.

7/18/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- That was sure some weekend with many things in the news. The final installment of the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Money Press" smashed the US box office record for an opening weekend. Of course, it may have been too hot for you to go out, in which case you probably stayed in the house and cheered on the US Womens soccer team.
- Here's your typical small business guy vs. corporate monolith story. A man in Florida has a pawn show that he opened several years ago called "Pawn Star." , That name sounds just like the name of the popular History Channel show "Pawn Stars." So, lawyers from the History , Channel sent him a nastygram demanding that he change the name of his business, even though it was opened several years before the show ever aired. An attorney for the owner of the shop says there is a grandfather clause for something like this and the man most likely will be able to keep the name. Why does a channel about history have a show about a pawn shop anyway. That's like SyFy having WWE wrestling. Oh wait, never mind.

- Buckle up Fido. Animal rights activists and law enforcement agencies want your dog to be restrained as it rides with you in the car. They say it prevents distracted driving and protects the animal in case of a collision.
- The Emmy award nominees are out, . Here's the list. My biggest slight? Sharon Gless should have been nominated for best supporting actress , in a drama for her work in "Burn Notice."&nbs, p; Ditto Bruce Campbell.

- A man on a Southwestern Airlines flight became so enraged that he couldn't use his electric cigarette on the plane, he began hurling snack food at the flight attendant. There's a man who needs his nicotine!
- Does your pet have a Facebook page yet? In Britain, one of of ten pets do. Our dogs Butkus and Murphy keep bugging me about it, but I haven't had the time to help them.
- Warner Brothers is creating a series of Looney Tunes 3D animation shorts to be shown in theaters prior to the main picture (like they did back in the day.) Voicing the new shorts is none other than , the great Mel Blanc, who did all of the voices on the classic cartoons we enjoy today. Of course, they will be using re-engineered voice tracks as Mel Blanc passed away in 1989.
7/13/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The man who caught Derek Jeter's 3000th hit may want to remember the phrase "be careful what you wish for." After doing the right thing and returning the ball to Jeter, he was rewarded with luxury stadium seats from the New York Yankees. Unfortunately, that counts as income and the man may be on the hook for several thousand dollars in taxes. He'd better hope the rep from the IRS isn't a Red Sox fan.
- TV producer Sherwood Schwartz has passed away at the age of 94. Schwartz is famous for creating the iconic comedies "Gilligan's Island" and "The Brady Bunch."
- Corey from HALO at St. Nicholas Hospital joined us this morning to talk about the great work her organization does with those who have suffered a miscarriage or lost a child. Find out more about HALO here.
- WEB ONLY MATERIAL: This may be a bit R rated, which I why I didn't talk about it on the air when your kids would be in the car. A man in Twinsburg, Ohio stopped his car in the middle of the road and began to run around it yelling "I have to fart" then got back in his car and drove off. Police caught up with him later. As you may have guessed by now, the man had a, history of mental illness.

- A restaurant in Pennsylvania has banned diners under six from their establishment in the hope of creating a more quiet atmosphere. As one lady pointed out, "what are they going to do about loud people at the bar."

7/11/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The running of, the Bulls is on again in Pamplona, Spain. Only ten people were hurt yesterday.
- A woman disappeared over forty years ago and was presumed dead by her family. In 1996, she was declared dead after remains were found in Flori, da. But advance DNA testing proved it wasn't her and so detectives, using advanced search techniques, finally located the woman, now 84, living in Florida. A family reunion is being planned. It just goes to show you that these days, you can run but you cannot hide and if someone really wants to find you, they can. I wonder if this is a good or a bad thing.
7/8/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The state of Indiana will discontinue teaching cursive writing in their schools after the third grade. With all of the typing and texting people do these days, who could blame them?
- There's a new reality show in the works for overweight chefs and food service employees that want to slim down. No details on what network will be picking the show up. , The mental picture of Paula Deen on a treadmill being screamed at by Gordon Ramsay makes me laugh out loud.
- Chef John from the Courthouse Pub joined us and told us about some cool summer selections on their menu. This week's phrase is "new menu."
7/7/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The world's largest hamburger has been created in Alameda County California. The 777 pound burger was sold in bites to help a local food bank. Do you want fries with that?
- A man in Detroit has come forward after racking up over $13,000 in parking tickets. Detroit, like most major cities, is trying to balance the books by rounding up ticket scofflaws.
- A woman is suing the company that makes those single , shot coffee makers because she didn't like the taste of the coffee and thought that their advertising was misleading. It also helps that her son in law is a lawyer. Maybe next time it would be easier to just save the receipt and return it.
7/6/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Now that gas prices have stabilized for the time being, America turns it's eyes and mouths toward our next crisis: The high price of bacon. High grain prices have forced farmers to produce less bacon, which could hit $6 a pound this summer.
- Last night on MasterChef, the judges said goodbye to Jennie Kelley after she massacred a vegetarian dish.
- Susie from St. Nicholas Hospital joined us to tell us that the St. Nicholas Health Express will be in Plymouth Saturday during the Mill Street Festival. In an unrelated topic,congratulations to all the winners and partici, pants at Monday's Freedom Run.

7/5/11-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- In Spain, you can actually get a ticket for driving too slow. A man there was issued a $220 ticket because he slowed down in an area he was sure was wired with speed cameras. Instead of a discount from his insurance company and a pat on the back from city fathers, he was hit with the citation. He says that it's all a tax grab. How do you say "Thank you Captain Obvious" in Spanish?
- A man from Chippewa Falls is suing his ex-wife and her husband for allegedly stealing one of his polka tunes. The ex used to sing with him, but now has a new husband and is in a new band. The man claims his ex and her new hubby stole the tune and slapped on a new set of lyrics and he wants damages. The new husband says it's about more than the song.
