6/29/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A deli in Vermont is imposing a $3 upcharge on people who talk on their cell phone while ordering at the counter. Personally, I'd like to see this become law, especially at Walmart.
- Charlie Sheen's long awaited new show "Anger Management" debuted last night on FX. The reviews I've read have been lukewarm (I have it on the DVR but haven't seen it yet.) What say you?
- Chef John from the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc gave us some ideas on how to keep cool in this sweltering heat. Cucumber martini, anyone?
6/28/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- In a surprise to no one, a recent British study shows that 6 in 10 people wake up grumpy. The leading cause is a bad night's sleep, the second is the heavy workload you face when you get to work.
- Believe it or not, your dog can now enjoy a cold one with you.
- Paul from Menards in Manitowoc joined us to tell us how you can cool off the family during this heat wave.
6/27/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- Back from my seven day trip to L.A. (Lower Alabama). Wedding pictures later today if I get a chance.
- If you are a fan of the ABC soap General Hospital, you will have to reset your DVR come September. Sonny, Carly, Sam, Jason and Luke are moving to 1pm in September to make room for Katie Couric.
- Writer/Director/ Producer Nora Ephron has died. She was involved in many great films including "Heartburn" "When Harry Met Sally" "Sleepless in Seattle" and "Jules and Julia"
- Susie from St. Nicholas Hospital joined us to talk about the annual St. Nicholas Hospital Freedom run. You still have time to sign up here.
6/19/12-Here's what we talked about today:
- Jenny McCarthy, the former Playboy model and occasional celebrity wanted to do something nice for her boyfriend, Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher. So, she texted him some nude pictures of herself. Somehow, they wound up with her 80 year-old dentist and not her boyfriend. Hopefully the dentist has a strong heart.
- Researchers recently served up a meal that would make both Michelle Obama and Mayor Bloomberg smile.
- Greg Anderson joined us for "Money Talks Tips and Traps." Today Greg talked about HSAs. To find out what that means, listen to today's conversation here.
- I will be on vacation the next week and will be back on Wednesday, June 27th. Sandi Davis will be your substitute teacher. Celebrate accordingly.
6/18/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A former TV writer is up on charges after punching a poodle in the face so hard he killed it. Butkus and Murphy are not amused.
- I'm kind of late to the party on this, but I only found out about it over the weekend. The man called "Mr. Trololo" has died. In 2010, someone posted a You Tube Video of Soviet singer Eduard Khil that went viral in literally minutes. Because there are no words to the song he sings, he became "Mr. Trololo" from his vocalizations. In truth, Khil was a huge star in the Soviet Union. But what makes this video special is his smile and his body language, leading us to believe that when you performed on Solviet TV in the 70's, there were snipers behind the camera.

6/14/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The Texas Department of Transportation is considering raising the speed limit on a stretch of road between El Paso and San Antonio to 85 miles an hour. I don't think my car can go that fast.
- Coming soon to airports and gas stations near you: Pizza vending machines. Made hot and fresh from scratch, the pizzas cost $5.95. The machines have been popular in Europe for quite some time.
6/13/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A digital media company is creating a hologram of Elvis so that he can perform on TV. Can't they just drive up to the Burger King in the U.P. where he hangs out and convince him to come back? Thank you. Thank you very much.
- A Principal in Coney Island, New York has banned the singing of "God Bless the USA" at a school assembly because she doesn't want to offend other cultures. However, the song "Baby" by Justin Bieber was allowed. Here's the irony: Justin Bieber is Canadian.

6/12/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- According to statistics, the Taco Bell Doritos Loco Taco may be the most successful fast food offering ever.
- An 8 year-old was chosen to throw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game. After his toss, the catcher removed his mask. It turned out to be his dad who was away in the military. It's okay to tear up if you want.

6/11/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- If you grew up watching such shows as "Green Acres" and "Petticoat Junction", then you have spent a few minutes inside Drucker's General Store. Sadly, the actor who played Mr. Drucker has passed away. Frank Cady was 96.
- A woman in Oregon decided to falsify her tax return and somehow got a $2.1 million dollar refund. She spent some of it before losing the Visa card it came on, which she reported as missing. Then, she got busted.

6/8/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A 15 year-old boy from Campbellsport is in big trouble after he stole a school bus in Fond Du Lac and drove it to West Bend. The boy did tell police that he stopped properly at all railroad crossings.
- The other day, we talked about e-mail scams. Here's something from my own e-mail box. In it, my credit card has been suspended and if I don't open the attachment (which probably contains a virus) I will have be in trouble or as the e-mailer said "If not completed apr 5/23/2012, we will be forced to suspend your card indfiniment because it can be used for fraudulent." Good thing they have my back!
- We had some technical difficulties with Chef John today, but the gist of his message is summer is almost here and the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc is serving fresh, lighter summer fare all season long.
6/7/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A team of present and former Packers will engage a team of present and former Bears on the golf course on June 18. Called "The Rivalry Cup", the proceeds will go to charity. The Bears team will be led by Da Coach, Mike Ditka.
- A thief in Decatur Illinois not only was caught driving a stolen car, but also accused of stealing meat from a grocery store by stuffing steaks down his pants. Is that a porterhouse in your pants or are you just happy to see me?
- This morning, we talked to Jim from Gilly's Frozen Custard. Nothing beats a drive-in in summer, and if you haven't experienced one yet, you are missing out. Check out their location on South Business Drive.
6/6/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- In New Zealand, the owner of an emergency beacon purchased a newer model and threw his old one in the trash. The problem is, the beacon was still on. Police had to search through a landfill to find it and deactivate it. If you do throw one away, make sure you remove the battery.
- Denny's has launched an app as part of it's fifty state challenge. By going to different Denny's across America this summer, you could earn points, badges and prizes.

6/5/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A man paid a Tennessee convenience store with a $50 bill. The owner of the store, thinking the bill was a fake, called police who arrested the man. Turns out, the bill wasn't fake, just really, really old. Police apologized to the man and told him to go to a bank and exchange his fifty for a newer one.
- Internet scams are up in 2011. Be careful anytime anyone asks you for your information without you initiating it first. Also, that's not really a Nigerian Prince that needs your help.
- Greg Anderson dropped by with "Money Talks Tips and Traps." Today, Greg talked about some new rules involving stock brokers. Listen to today's segment or any of Greg's other pearls of wisdom here.
6/4/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- A Russian man wanted to hide from his girlfriend but choose a unique way to do it. He jumped in the garbage chute on the eighth floor of an apartment building before being wedged in three floors down. The man had to be cut out of the chute.
- A waiter in Houston was surprised with a $5,000 tip on a $27 check. The waiter told a Houston TV station that the couple that left him the tip were weekend regulars and had heard his car had been destroyed in a recent storm. Their wish was for him to get a car.

6/1/12-Here's what we talked about this morning:
- The Mayor of New York wants to limit a soda to 16 ounces at city restaurants. Obviously, he knows what's best for you.
- A man in Lancaster, PA was convicted of starting a fight in a Chinese Restaurant over crab legs. I thought it was General Tso's chicken that got people emotional.
